We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Senior Fire Engineer to join a growing and dynamic team across the Midlands.
This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who is confident working independently, managing their own workload, and representing the business professionally on site.
Location Midlands (regional travel required)
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 (Dependent on Experience)
The Role As a Senior Fire Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality service, maintenance, and fault-finding across a variety of commercial sites.
You will work across fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and fire extinguishers, with opportunities to support or lead installation and commissioning projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on:
- Commercial fire alarm systems
- Emergency lighting systems
- Fire extinguishers
- Diagnose faults and complete remedial works efficiently
- Complete service reports, certification, and documentation accurately
- Carry out small works, upgrades, and system improvements
- Support or lead installation and commissioning (where applicable)
- Ensure all work is compliant with British Standards and H&S regulations
- Liaise professionally with clients, site teams, and internal staff
- Support and mentor junior engineers where required
- Manage workload independently across multiple sites
- Maintain company tools, stock, and vehicle
What We’re Looking For Essential
- Proven experience as a Fire Engineer within commercial environments
- Strong knowledge of:
- Fire alarm systems
- Emergency lighting
- Fire extinguishers
- Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in fire systems
- Experience in servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding
- Good understanding of relevant British Standards
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
Desirable
- Installation and commissioning experience
- Familiarity with multiple fire alarm manufacturers
- Additional industry qualifications or training
- ECS/CSCS card
- IPAF or PASMA
- Experience mentoring junior engineers
