Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

The Job Role:
 
We are seeking an experienced Fire Engineer to join a well-established and forward-thinking business, covering sites across the Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled engineer who is confident working independently and carrying out both routine servicing and quoted works.
 
Main Responsibilities:
 

  • Test, service and maintain a range of fire safety systems, including:
        • Fire alarm systems
        • Emergency lighting
        • Fire extinguishers
  • Complete remedial and quoted works to a high standard
  • Ensure all work is fully compliant with current fire safety regulations
  • Communicate clearly with clients, delivering excellent customer service on-site
  • Accurately complete digital job reports, including asset registers and test results
  • Liaise with internal helpdesk and management team to report on progress or issues

Essential Requirements:
 

  • Proven experience in a fire engineering or fire safety maintenance role
  • Confidence in identifying and carrying out quoted works (repairs, replacements, upgrades)
  • In-depth knowledge of BS 5839, BS 5266 and related fire safety standards
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • High attention to detail and a professional approach on client sites

Desirable Qualifications (Non-Mandatory):

  • FIA units (or equivalent) in Fire Alarm Maintenance, Design, and Emergency Lighting
  • Electrical or Fire & Security background (advantageous but not essential)
  • Familiarity with digital reporting systems or CAFM platforms
