Mobile Gas Engineer
Location: Mobile role covering Bath, Salisbury, Swindon and surrounding areas
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 DOE + Overtime & Out-of-Hours Rates
Hours: 42.5 hours per week
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
The Opportunity We are recruiting on behalf of an established Facilities Management provider looking for an experienced Mobile Gas Engineer to join their team covering Bath, Salisbury, Swindon and the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Gas Engineer with experience across commercial and domestic gas systems who is looking for a secure, long-term position offering a strong basic salary, additional earning potential and continued professional development.
The successful candidate will work independently across a variety of client sites, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, repairs and associated gas works.
Key Responsibilities As a Mobile Gas Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial and domestic gas appliances and systems
- Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently
- Carrying out gas safety checks and compliance-related works
- Working on boilers, heating systems and associated mechanical plant
- Completing remedial works and identifying further repairs where required
- Delivering a high level of first-time fixes wherever possible
- Completing service records, job reports and relevant compliance documentation accurately
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with current regulations and industry standards
- Liaising professionally with customers, site representatives and internal teams
- Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota
- Working on oil-fired boilers and LPG systems where required, with additional training available where necessary
Essential Requirements To be considered for this position, you will need:
- Valid Commercial Gas Qualifications
- Valid Domestic Gas Qualifications
- Current Gas Safe competencies
- Previous experience carrying out gas service, maintenance and fault-finding works
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently across a mobile portfolio
- Good communication and customer-facing skills
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements
- Full, clean UK Manual Driving Licence
Desirable Experience The following would be advantageous but is not essential:
- Experience with oil-fired boilers
- LPG experience or qualifications
- Experience working across commercial properties and multi-site contracts
- Additional mechanical or heating qualifications
Training can be provided for oil and LPG systems where required.
