We are recruiting on behalf of an established and reputable roofing contractor based in Warwickshire who is seeking an experienced Roofing Estimator to join their expanding team.
  
This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable roofing professional with strong commercial awareness and estimating experience to play a key role in securing and delivering profitable projects across a varied portfolio of works.
  
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of roofing systems, materials, labour requirements, and project costing within the roofing sector.

The Role

As Roofing Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive quotations for roofing projects, working closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and operational teams.

You will be involved from initial enquiry through to project handover, ensuring all estimates are commercially viable and aligned with client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for roofing projects.
• Review specifications, drawings, schedules, and tender documents.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments where required.
• Measure works and assess labour, material, plant, and subcontractor requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare tender submissions and pricing schedules.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
• Liaise with clients to clarify requirements and build strong working relationships.
• Support contract handovers to operational teams following successful bid awards.
• Maintain estimating records and pricing databases.
• Work closely with directors and project teams to support business growth.

Types of Projects
You will be involved in pricing a wide range of works, including:

• Commercial roofing projects
• Industrial roofing systems
• Flat roofing
• Pitched roofing
• Roof refurbishment and replacement works
• Planned maintenance programmes
• Reactive roofing repairs
• Public sector and private sector contracts

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as a Roofing Estimator.
• Strong knowledge of roofing materials, systems, and installation methods.
• Experience pricing commercial roofing projects.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Experience

• Experience within commercial, industrial, or public sector roofing projects.
• Knowledge of flat roofing systems, pitched roofing, cladding, or building envelope solutions.
• Experience managing tender submissions for projects of varying values.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements within the construction sector.
